How Does it Work?

A technician uses a microblade tool to apply color pigments that look like real hairs.

The technician makes tiny superficial cuts in and along the brow, depositing pigment over the arches so it can seep into the hairlike cuts just created.

The color effect does fade over time, so touch-ups may be necessary to maintain the desired look.

What to Expect During Microblading

Before treatment – You may be asked to avoid certain medications, creams, or other products prior to your treatment.

Discussing shape/color – Colors and shapes can vary widely. Often, a technician will color a shape in with makeup or pencil so you can visualize together the desired outcome.

Cleansing skin – Your technician will remove any makeup and make sure your skin is free from any debris.

Numbing gel – The pain with microblading is minimal, largely due to a topical numbing agent applied to your skin. You may need to wait for 15 minutes for it to take effect. This is a good time to relax or get to know more about your technician.

Microblading Procedure – The procedure can take 30-60 minutes depending on the scope of the treatment. You will relax on a table with a light, and usually close your eyes as the artist gets to work.
